Brand Finance Appoints New Chairman


Brand Finance is pleased to announce that Richard Sykes was appointed Chairman on April 1st, 2016.


Richard has had a long and successful career at PwC where he has been a global relationship partner for a number of FTSE 100 clients, including, most recently, WPP. Additionally, Richard has developed and led the governance risk and compliance initiative aimed at the boardroom and non-executive director community in particular. He has a specific interest in sports governance, stemming from his lead role as joint author with Lord Woolf of the governance review into the International Cricket Council as well as being the first independent non-executive director of the England Hockey Board.


As Chairman, Richard will be particularly focussed on developing relationships with people businesses, specifically marketing and professional services companies. He will also combine his passion for sport and professional expertise to further solidify Brand Finance’s strong reputation for providing unique analytical expertise for sports brands.


On being appointed, Richard commented: “I am delighted to join Brand Finance as Chairman. I see plenty of opportunity to align my experience gained from over 25 years as a PwC partner with the significant growth opportunities that exist to promote the value of brands within the sport and people business environment.”
