Through its expanding international presence, commitment to responsible finance, and investment in social impact initiatives, ICBC has further strengthened its global influence and reputation. Looking ahead, the bank remains focused on innovation, risk management, and long-term value creation as it continues to support sustainable economic development and maintain its leadership in the financial sector.

In the Brand Finance China 500 2026 report, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) reinforces its position as one of China’s most valuable and globally influential financial brands. ICBC’s brand value increased by 15% to USD90.9 billion, while its Brand Strength Index (BSI) score rose to 91.5/100, maintaining the highest AAA+ brand strength rating. The bank ranks third among China’s most valuable brands and retains its position as the world’s most valuable banking brand for the 10th consecutive year (according to the Brand Finance Banking 500 2026 report), reflecting the continued strength of ICBC’s brand equity, market trust and institutional competitiveness.
ICBC’s brand value growth is underpinned by its resilient financial performance and strong value creation. As 2025 marked the final year of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, the bank delivered a solid set of results amid a complex macroeconomic environment. By the end of 2025, ICBC’s total assets exceeded USD7.5 trillion for the first time, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 9.5%. The Group also recorded an operating income of USD119.3 billion and a net profit of USD52.8 billion, with core profitability indicators achieving positive growth. This stable operating foundation strengthens the bank’s credit profile, while annual cash dividends of over USD14.2 billion further reinforce ICBC’s positioning as a reliable and trusted financial institution.
Beyond financial scale, ICBC has strengthened its brand relevance by aligning its development priorities with China’s broader economic and policy agenda. Through its continued focus on the “Five Major Areas” of finance, the bank has further integrated brand building with its role in serving the real economy. In green finance, ICBC maintains a leadership position not only through the scale of its green credit portfolio, but also by supporting the development of sustainable finance through green financial bond issuance in China’s interbank market. In technology finance, the bank continues to channel funding into strategic emerging industries, supporting industrial upgrading and reinforcing the technological depth of the ICBC brand.
Digital transformation is a central driver of ICBC’s brand strength. With the launch of its “AI+ Leadership Action Plan”, ICBC has advanced from “Digital ICBC” to “Intelligent ICBC”, signalling a shift from digital infrastructure development to AI-enabled business transformation. Supported by its proprietary “ICBC Zhiyong” large model technology system, the bank has deployed more than 500 AI application scenarios across over 30 business areas, spanning intelligent customer service, risk management and operational efficiency. These initiatives are enhancing service quality and strengthening ICBC’s ability to deliver a more intelligent, responsive and customer-centric brand experience.
ICBC’s international presence also continues to support its global brand influence. As a world-class modern financial institution with Chinese characteristics, the bank has expanded its global service network while deepening its role in cross-border financial services and international financial governance. This strengthens the international profile of Chinese financial institutions and supports Chinese enterprises and customers in global markets. At the same time, ICBC continues to invest in public welfare initiatives such as “ICBC Brightness Action”, extending its brand value beyond commercial performance and demonstrating a sustained commitment to social responsibility.
Looking ahead, ICBC is well positioned to maintain its brand leadership by advancing its transformation agenda, strengthening risk management, enhancing value creation and accelerating intelligent innovation. As the bank continues to serve national strategies and support high-quality economic development, its brand influence is expected to remain closely linked to its institutional resilience, digital capabilities and ability to create long-term value for customers, shareholders and society.
