Brand Finance Toronto Forum 2012

19 July 2012, 13:45–20:30 UK Time

Brand Finance presents Canada’s 50 Most Valuable Brands:

Intangible assets, specifically brand value, form a growing and significant component of corporate worth, as evidenced by the global adaptation of the ISO 10668 brand valuation standard. Determining the value of a corporation’s brand portfolio is crucial to understanding, managing, and leveraging the brand for long term growth.

New global standards for disclosing the value of intangible assets, especially brand values, are substantially different between International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Brand Finance, in partnership with Toronto-based Level5 Strategic Advisors, is proud to lead this discussion at our Forum in Toronto on Thursday, July 19th. Focus will be given to the importance of measuring brand value in a global setting.

Brand Finance is the world’s leading independent brand valuation consultancy.  We value brands, intangible assets and intellectual property for accounting, tax, corporate finance, and marketing purposes.

The Forum will be hosted at the Toronto Board of Trade during which we will release the highly anticipated League Table of 2011’s Top 50 Most Valuable Canadian Brands, and presenting awards to the Top 10 Most Valuable Oil & Gas, Mining, Financial Services, Consumer & Retail, and Tech & Telecom Brands, as well as an award for the Biggest Mover. The Brand Finance League Table is unique as the rankings reflect the financial strength of each brand.

Canada is in the midst of fully implementing IFRS for all publicly traded organizations. This shift impacts many Canadian organizations that  do  not quantify their brand value. David Haigh, Global CEO of Brand Finance, will lead the discussion on how to address and approach these challenges.

The evening will include a panel discussion led by Susan Krashinsky of the Globe and Mail exploring how Canadian organizations can leverage their brand and their Canadian origins to enhance their performance on the world stage.

For those unable to attend our Toronto Forum, there is also a Calgary Forum.
