David is the Chairman and CEO of Brand Finance Plc – the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy. He has worked in the area of branded business, brand, and intangible asset valuation since 1991. He specialised entirely in the field after becoming the Director of Brand Valuation for Interbrand in 1995. He subsequently left Interbrand in 1996 to launch Brand Finance which is celebrating 25 years in business this year.
David represented the British Standards Institution in the working parties responsible for crafting international industry standards: ISO 10668 on Brand Valuation in 2010 and ISO 20671 on Brand Evaluation in 2019.
David is a passionate writer and has authored many articles on brand valuation, published in numerous marketing and finance newspapers and magazines, such as: Financial Times, Accountancy Age, and Marketing Week. He has also lectured on the topic of brand valuation for Harvard, Chicago, and London Business Schools.
David graduated from Bristol University with an English degree, qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in London, and obtained a postgraduate diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). He is a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has a practising certificate with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
ICAEW Qualified Chartered Accountant with over 12 years’ experience working as a professional consultant on global brands across many sectors including banking, insurance, telecoms and government services.
Bryn was previously Director of Sports Services at Brand Finance, working extensively for sports teams (Rights Holder) and corporate brands (sponsor) on brand and commercial strategy.
Bryn’s expertise lies in evaluating the financial impact of brand, marketing, sponsorship activities and strategic investments to support decision making at a C-Suite and Board level. Whilst at Brand Finance, Bryn has led strategic valuation assignments globally, advising on a wide range of branding issues including: positioning, architecture, portfolio analysis, brand extension, budget allocation, dashboards, return on investment analysis and licensing and M&A. Bryn has gained exposure working with large blue-chip companies across Europe, Australasia, Middle East and North America, dealing with clients and stakeholders at both C-suite and Board level.
Anton Myagkov, aged 34, is the Marketing Director of Aeroflot – Russian Airlines, a member of the International SkyTeam Alliance. He is responsible for all the marketing, communication and brand management aspects, including developing, implementing and executing the Marketing Strategy for the Aeroflot Group of companies.
Anton joined Aeroflot in 2014 and in his previous role as Deputy Marketing Director, he founded the inaugural digital marketing team and architected a comprehensive strategy for integration of Big Data into the business to ensure higher business returns and greater customer understanding. In addition, Anton was previously responsible for all Aeroflot’s high-caliber global partnerships including the one with Manchester United Football Club, CSKA Moscow, Zenit, The Russian Olympic and Paralympic Committees and a range of other successful brand partnerships.
Anton has over 15 years’ experience of working in marketing and delivering strategic value to some of the world’s leading brands. Prior to joining Aeroflot, Anton upheld a number of senior positions in the finance sector, such as Head of Communication Marketing at VTB24 Bank and Head of Marketing at Promsvyazbank managing the corporate rebranding, designing and consistently implementing dozens of international campaigns across the globe.
Matthew leads BuroHappold’s global Sports & Entertainment business, working with a team that engineers the performance of the world’s finest venues.
His first degree was in General Engineering at Cambridge University, and also has experience of advanced engineering analytics, integrated building design, and Architecture through another degree at Newcastle University. Matthew became involved in longspan lightweight structural design shortly after graduation, and immediately seized upon the opportunity to combine his interests in architecture, engineering and advanced analytics as a holistic designer in this field.
Upon joining BuroHappold in 2006, his work shifted into the sports sector and he led the engineering team responsible for the design of the London 2012 Olympic Stadium. Other extraordinary projects followed, including the leading BuroHappold’s work on the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Stadium, Up @ O2, and the Emirates Air Line. Matthew became a Partner in 2013 and was appointed Global Sports & Entertainment Sector Director in 2015. Since then Matthew has worked on the conversion of the London Olympic Stadium into a multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue, the design of Tottenham Hotspur’s new home ground, and the Education City Stadium for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Matthew’s team is currently working for several sports governing bodies and leading professional clubs all over the world, using outcome-driven design to link operational, constructional and commercial opportunities to deliver for our clients world-leading performance on and off the field of play.
Nuria is Chief Marketing Officer for City Football Group and joined in November 2015. Her role encompasses Retail, Fan Relationship Management (FRM), Digital and Content, Brand and Research.
Nuria joined City Football Group after 19 years of experience in the telecommunications, aviation and tourism & leisure industries and in strategy consulting for Oliver Wyman.
Ian Stafford is a multiple award-winning national and international sports journalist having covered every major global sporting event over the past 25 years, authored 16 published books, including various best-sellers.
He has been a broadcaster on national TV and radio and currently hosts the three-hour “Press Pass” on Talksport every Sunday morning, and is also a speaker, host and compere. He is the founder, owner and Chairman of the London Sporting Club and founder/owner of the Manchester Sporting Club.
