Brand Finance – the world's leading independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy – is pleased to announce that it has now expanded officially into Ireland with Brand Finance Ireland established on 1st July 2021.

This year, Brand Finance is celebrating 25 years of operations globally and is in its 5th year of operations in Ireland. As the business continues to expand, Brand Finance Ireland has been established to set up official local representation in the nation.

Declan Ahern, Director, Brand Finance Ireland, commented:

“As Irish brands continue to grow both at home and on the European and global stage, it is becoming increasingly important for the nation’s brands to better understand and manage their brand value and strength. Having previously worked with three of Ireland’s largest companies - Kerry, Kingspan and Smurfit Kappa - as well as smaller, indigenous Irish brands like Coole Swan, we are excited to help even more Irish brands make their mark on the global stage.”

Brand Finance has been showcasing the performance of the most valuable and strongest Irish brands for five years in the Brand Finance Ireland 25 report. Penneys/ Primark has retained the top spot this year, despite the uncertainty and turbulence of the past covid-stricken year and a half. Guinness, AIB, Ryanair, and Smurfit Kappa round off the top five. Baileys has maintained its position as the strongest brand in the nation. Ireland boasts nine brands in the latest Brand Finance Europe 500 2021 report, with Kingspan the highest new Irish entrant in 499th position.

In the Brand Finance Nation Brands 2020 ranking, Ireland recorded a stellar performance as the only nation brand in the top 20 to record brand value growth. A strong performance largely attributable to its forecasts being impacted less dramatically than others on the global stage – a particularly positive position given the twin threat of Brexit and COVID-19.

Simon Haigh, Agent, Brand Finance Ireland, commented:

“The vibrant and resilient Irish economy maintains its reputation as a preferred investment destination even in a time of crisis. Having worked for Brand Finance in Ireland for the past five years, it has been exciting to see the growth and journey of Ireland’s home-grown brands, which continue to be very strong ambassadors for the nation’s economy.”
